BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The YMCA of Southern West Virginia has announced that Dr. Tony Kelly will be the 35th recipient of the Spirit of Beckley Community Service Award.
Dr. Kelly will be honored for his work which has made a positive impact on the community for over four decades.
“Dr. Kelly has positively impacted our community for more than forty years through his medical practice and businesses as well as his philanthropic efforts with the Kelly Family Foundation,” said YMCA of Southern West Virginia CEO, Jay Rist. “It is therefore fitting that we honor him with the Spirit of Beckley Award, which recognizes individuals that, through dedication of their time and resources, make our area a better place to work, live and play while also serving as the Y’s largest fundraiser of the year.”
Scheduled to take place at 6:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, all proceeds from the 35th Spirit of Beckley Dinner Honoring Dr. Tony Kelly will go toward supporting youth programs of the YMCA.
Both those planning and unable to attend have been encouraged to make a donation in Dr. Kelly’s honor in support of the YMCA of Southern West Virginia.
“It will serve as a wonderful tribute to an individual who has made a difference in our community,” said Rist. The campaign goal for this year is to raise $150,000 for the YMCA of Southern West Virginia.
The 35th Spirit of Beckley Kickoff Breakfast event sponsored by City National Bank will precede the 35th Spirit of Beckley Dinner event and will be hosted at the Historic Black Knight on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 7:00am to 9:00am.
