RANDOLPH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A driver has been cited after crashing into a utility pole Thursday.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, 911 dispatched a single-vehicle accident into a pole on Ward Road.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and observed a single vehicle into a pole.
The driver was outside the vehicle with visible facial injuries. The driver advised that something was wrong with his tire that caused him to lose control.
When speaking with the driver, police observed concussion-like symptoms because he hit his head on the windshield during the collision.
A meth pipe was found in his possession, but no drugs were found after a search. EMS responded to the scene but the driver declined EMS attention.
During the investigation, police learned that the vehicle was improperly registered by displaying a plate belonging to another vehicle. The driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. Police say the vehicle’s inspection sticker was also several months old.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain control, expired MVI, improper registration, and no proof of insurance.
The vehicle was towed and then the driver was given a courtesy transport to Elkins.
