MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mount Hope man was arrested Saturday night following a domestic violence incident at Midtown Terrace Apartments.
According to authorities, at approximately 8:24 p.m., Cheif of Police Jasper responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute in progress at Midtown Terrace Apartments. Upon arrival, the officer heard arguing inside the residence.
A woman answered the door with blood visible on her mouth and informed the officer that Koltyn Sparks was upstairs assaulting her niece. Upon reaching the second floor, the officer found Sparks holding a victim by the arm. The female victim had blood coming from her mouth and visible scratch marks.
Officer Jasper ordered Sparks to release the victim and proceeded to separate the individuals. When questioned, Sparks admitted to being intoxicated and stated that an argument had escalated into physical violence. He was quoted saying, “he beat the ho’s ass.”
Both victims confirmed that Sparks had struck them with a closed fist. Sparks was then placed under arrest for domestic battery and transported to the Mount Hope Police Department for processing. He was later taken to the Southern Regional Jail.
