CHAPMANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Boone County man is facing charges after a domestic dispute turned violent on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at a home on Buffalo Lick Road in Chapmanville.
Deputies responded to the scene around 11:53 a.m. following a call reporting a domestic altercation. Upon arrival, law enforcement found the female victim sitting in a vehicle outside the residence. She reported that the altercation began while she was preparing food for an upcoming Easter event.
According to the victim, the man became aggressive after demanding she move out of the kitchen. When she refused, he shoved her. She attempted to push him back, at which point he allegedly grabbed a wooden shelf and threw it at her, striking her in the stomach.
Deputies observed visible injuries on the woman, including a red mark and a small abrasion. The man remained inside the home when authorities arrived.
Investigators say the suspect’s actions not only caused physical harm but also placed the victim in reasonable fear of further violence. The couple resides together at the home.
The man was taken into custody and is expected to face charges related to domestic battery and domestic assault. The case is under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
