LYNCO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Local reports emerged on Sunday regarding a loud explosion heard in the Wyoming County area during the afternoon hours which would later be confirmed by emergency responders.
The unexpected sound was reported to have been heard in the Lynco area and drew comparisons to an “explosion” or “loud boom.”
The development raised concerns with several local residents who questioned the source of the disruption.
These concerns were addressed in a statement on Sunday night from the Oceana Fire Department, who advised that they too are actively seeking an explanation with regard to the cause.
“We’re aware of the loud explosion noise reported in the Lynco area. As of 6:57 pm, there’s no official information on the cause,” read the statement. “Rest assured, we’re actively seeking updates and will keep you posted. Stay safe, and we appreciate your understanding.”
