FAIRMONT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Friday, April 12 from 6-7pm, Logan Summerlin, a Senior at Fairmont State University, will host “So You Wanna Start an Herb Garden?”, an event dedicated to highlighting the history and usage of regional plants and herbs.
Summerlin will also show attendees how to start their own herb garden by utilizing local items and seeds. There will be seeds for attendees to take home on a first come, first serve basis.
The event will take place at the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center on Squibb Wilson Blvd. Pre-registration is not required and this event is free and open to the public.
“Logan’s work makes traditional and regional information accessible, and we’re thrilled to facilitate that,” says Folklife Center Director Lydia Warren, PhD. “We love providing the community with useful and fun events, and this should be both!”
The Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center on the campus of Fairmont State University is dedicated to the identification, preservation, and perpetuation of our region’s rich cultural heritage, through academic studies, educational programs, festivals and performances, and publications.
