(LOOTPRESS) — Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Jr. announced today that Raymond L. Withrow, 28, of Falls View, West Virginia, was convicted of multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree sexual assault, strangulation, and violation of a domestic violence protective order. The conviction followed a two-day jury trial before Circuit Judge Paul M. Blake, Jr., with the jury reaching a verdict in less than 30 minutes.
Withrow’s sentencing is scheduled for January 10, 2024, where he faces potential prison terms of 10 to 25 years for each count of second-degree sexual assault, one to five years for strangulation, and up to one year for violating the protective order.
The charges stem from incidents in March 2024 involving a victim known to Withrow. During the first assault, the victim reported that Withrow choked her to the point of near unconsciousness. Following these incidents, the victim obtained a domestic violence protective order against Withrow, which he later violated by sending a message to the victim through a third party on Facebook Messenger.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case, and victim support services were provided by AWAY, a local advocacy organization. Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., led the prosecution.
