FAYETTE COUNTY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Dawn Dooley, Director of Elementary Schools, released that the county’s Kindergarten registration is scheduled for Monday, March 29, 2021. The registration applies to the 2021-2022 school year.
According to Dooley, in order to be registered to attend Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school term, children must be five years old on or before June 30, 2021.
Parents, who must register their child at the school in their attendance area, must bring the following information to the appropriate attendance zone registration site:
- Certified Birth Certificate (certified from the State Registrar: WV Department of Vital Statistics)
- Immunization records
- The child’s social security card (requested, not required)
- Proof of preventative Health Screen/ Well-Child Exam in the last 12 months
- Proof of a dental exam
- Proof of residency (utility bill)
Individual schools will hold a kindergarten open house in the summer of 2021. These will be uniquely scheduled at each school.
Forms will be available at each school to request certified West Virginia Birth Certificates. If utilizing the request service, Dooley asks that parents bring a check or money order for $12 payable to the West Virginia Department of Vital Statistics.
