FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The ranks of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office have recently expanded with the addition of the department’s newest Deputy K-9, Nala.
Nala is a German Shorthaired Pointer from Hungary and brings an array of skills and abilities to the department, Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley tells LOOTPRESS.
Sheriff Fridley notes that Nala’s extensive training includes focuses in narcotics detection, article search, and tracking.
The announcement of the new addition follows a four-week period of dedicated and intense training from the new Deputy K-9 at Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania with Corporal Josh Wickline.
In other county news, members of the Fayette County Commission are scheduled to convene on Wednesday morning at 9:00am to discuss several issues detailed in this week’s meeting agenda.
Pertinent items will include expense reimbursement for the Oak Hill Fire Department Building, a potential decision on a DHHR Crisis Response Grant Drawdown Document, and more.
