BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Law enforcement officials from various organizations on Tuesday excavated a yard in the Raleigh County area in relation to a disappearance investigation.
The investigation in question pertains to Susan Carter and her daughter, Natasha – also known as “Alex” – both of whom went missing nearly a quarter-century ago, and were last reported to have been seen in August of 2000.
The two were reported to have been residing with Larry Webb at Kyle Lane in Raleigh County at the time they went missing all those years ago.
According to Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hatfield, Webb was indicted for the child’s murder by a grand jury, and that a bullet containing DNA from the juvenile was recovered from inside Webb’s residence during a 2023 search.
The excavation began on Tuesday morning and, as of Tuesday evening, no remains had been recovered by investigators.
