WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Wheeling Police Department and Wheeling Fire Department held their annual Public Safety Ceremony at WesBanco Arena on Thursday to recognize and honor first responders.
The yearly recurring ceremony serves to recognize first responders for their service, acknowledge department promotions, and distribute special awards.
Thursday’s ceremony saw several awards given out, including those for Community Service, Meritorious Performance, and Medal of Merit among others.
Cpl. Ryan Moore was recognized during the ceremony for his selection as 2022 Officer of the Year for which he was presented a commemorative plaque from the Wheeling Police Department.
Over half a dozen new employees with the department were also recognized during the proceedings, including Samantha Baker, Brandon Edge, Nolan Brough, Zachary Herron, Grace Lontz, Tyler Davis, and Cory Rager
