MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Jim Justice made a surprise visit to Appalachian Bible College last week, delivering a $1,125,000 check to fund significant infrastructure improvements on campus.
A portion of the funds will be used to install new heating and cooling systems in the college’s dormitories, marking the first time these facilities will have air conditioning.
During his visit, Governor Justice addressed students and faculty, highlighting the college’s mission to integrate faith and education.
“The good Lord has surely blessed me to be here with all of you today,” Justice said. “Appalachian Bible College is such a special place where faith and learning come together to help young folks grow into strong leaders for God. I’m happy to deliver this check today, because it’s an investment in a generation of leaders who will take God’s light out into a world that needs it more every day.”
Members of Appalachian Bible College’s board joined the governor for the ceremony.
Founded in September 1950 at the Independent Baptist Church in Pettus, West Virginia, Appalachian Bible College was the vision of Rev. and Mrs. Lester Pipkin and Pastor and Mrs. Robert Guelich.
Over the decades, the college has grown into an accredited institution, offering certificate, associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs.
Known for preparing students for ministry and service, the college also provides online Bible courses and classes.
