FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Rainelle man is facing felony charges in Fayette County. Sheriff Mike Fridley provides the following information regarding this incident.
On October 15, 2023, deputies responded to an overdose in the Lookout area. Life-saving measures were administered by EMS but ultimately failed and the victim died. Witnesses in the area stated seeing a male leaving the residence shortly before the victim was found. During the investigation, detectives were able to locate the male and interview him. The male admitted to using narcotics with the victim but insisted the victim was alive when he left.
Michael S. Gray, 42 of Rainelle, is charged with the felony offense of Death Resulting from Failure to Render Aid While Engaging in the Illegal Use of Controlled Substances. Gray is currently housed in Southern Regional Jail to await further court proceedings.
