GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder that occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, a few miles south of Ronceverte.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, one person was killed and another was severely wounded in the incident. The surviving victim is being treated at a trauma center.

Deputies arrested the suspect, identified as Micheal Eugene Loudermilk, Jr., 42, following a short pursuit as he attempted to flee the scene.
The arrest was made with assistance from the Lewisburg Police Department, Ronceverte Police Department, and White Sulphur Springs Police Department.
The Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Team is processing the scene and expects to execute additional search warrants as the investigation continues.
Officials said more details will be released once the investigation is complete.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their family and friends.”
