WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company and Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider are pleased to announce the expansion of Greenbrier Valley Taphouse with a new location at 697 Main Street East in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
The expansion marks a major step forward for both locally owned craft beverage companies. The White Sulphur Springs facility, formerly home to a brewery, will provide additional production capacity while also allowing the companies to significantly expand their hospitality, food, entertainment and private event offerings.
The facility is expected to add approximately 1,000 barrels of annual production capacity and a second brewing system to Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company’s operations. The additional equipment will provide greater production flexibility and redundancy, helping the brewery maintain a more consistent supply of its products throughout West Virginia.
“This is much more than simply opening another taproom,” said owner Joshua Bennett. “It gives us the infrastructure to continue growing Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company and Hawk Knob while creating the kind of hospitality experience we have wanted to offer for years. White Sulphur Springs is a community with a tremendous amount of history and character, and we are excited to become a part of its continued growth.”
The new Greenbrier Valley Taphouse will showcase beer produced by Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company alongside cider from Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider. Plans for the property include a full hospitality operation with food, live music, private events, weddings, corporate gatherings and other community-focused programming.
The companies’ existing operations will remain an important part of the expansion. The current Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company Taproom in Maxwelton will remain open, while the White Sulphur Springs location will provide additional production and serve as an expanded hospitality destination.
The current Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider Tasting room location will remain open until October 4th 2026 then will transition into a production only facility.
For Bennett, the project also represents another investment in the Greenbrier Valley and in the future of West Virginia-made craft beverages.
“We’ve spent years building these brands around West Virginia, its people and its culture,” Bennett said. “Our goal isn’t to become something different as we grow. It’s to build stronger West Virginia companies, create jobs here at home and give people another reason to spend their time and money in the Greenbrier Valley.”
Founded in 2014, Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider became West Virginia’s first commercial cidery and has earned recognition for its traditional Appalachian approach to cider making. Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company has reestablished its statewide presence in recent years with brands including Devil Anse IPA, Mothman Black IPA, American Light Lager and Levicy Hazy IPA.
