WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Heavy rain is causing multiple issues throughout the Mountain State tonight from road closures and water rescues.
According to West Virginia 511, multiple traffic issues have arisen this evening primarily in the western part of the state in counties such as Kanawha, Putnam, and Roane.
High water and rockslides have been reported on multiple roadways within those counties.
Putnam County 911 says they have received multiple reports of high water on roadways.
Several water rescues are ongoing as well, according to Putnam County 911.
A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the western side of the state.
Currently, school districts stretching from Brooke County to Mingo County have either closed or delayed classes for Friday due to weather.
