CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Hope Gas, Inc. has filed a request with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) seeking approval to raise natural gas rates for customers across 35 West Virginia counties.
If approved, the proposed increase would generate about $79.6 million in additional annual revenue, representing a 40.95% overall hike.
The change would affect customers in counties such as Boone, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Nicholas, Raleigh, and Wyoming counties.
The PSC has suspended the effective date of the proposed rate changes until February 24, 2026. If approved, the new rates would take effect February 25, 2026.
The PSC will hold a public comment hearing on November 3, 2025, at 6 p.m., both in person and virtually, at the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston.

Anyone wishing to formally intervene in the case must file a petition to intervene by June 30, 2025.
