HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Huntington Fire Department on Wednesday presented the department’s latest fire apparatus, Engine 10.
The unveiling of the new addition took place at Gallagher Station on Washington Boulevard on Wednesday. The vehicle, a 2023 Spartan, has the capability to store 750 gallons of water on board and to discharge as much as 1,500 gallons of water per minute.
Other significant features include a short wheelbase and tight turning radius, which will afford Huntington firefighter personnel the ability to maneuver safely and quickly through the area neighborhoods which they serve.
The emergency service vehicle, the fifth purchased by the City of Huntington over the past seven years, was obtained through Ohio’s Johnson’s Emergency Vehicle Solutions at a cost of $642,167. Past purchases include a 2019 Spartan Pumper (Engine 2,) a 2020 Spartan Pumper (Engine 1,) a 2023 Spartan Rescue Truck (Rescue 1,) and a 2016 Rosenbauer Pumper (Engine 5.)
