CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Candidate Robbie Morris has secured the Republican nomination for State Senate District 11, besting incumbent Robert L. Karnes who has represented the district in the senate for nearly a decade.
Morris came into the race as Executive Director of the Randolph County Development Authority and West Virginia Wood Technology Center, running a campaign with an emphasis on prayer, manufacturing, and law enforcement, among other things.
“I am truly blown away! First and foremost I want to thank God for leading me down this path! My prayer all along has been to be used in service to Him, however He sees fit,” said Morris upon learning of his victory. “Now we turn our attention to the November election. I look forward to continuing the positive message we have delivered over the past year and working towards making the 11th District and WV the best it can be! I am truly blessed to live in the 11th District!”
Morris will go up against Democratic candidate Mandy Weirich, who secured the Democratic nomination on Tuesday following an unopposed run.
