COALTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces disorderly conduct and possession charges following involvement in public dispute on Monday.
According to reports from Deputy Pingley of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, October 31, 2022, 911 dispatched a fight in progress at approximately 5:50pm between the area of the Colton Fire Department and Jimtown Road.
Deputy Pingley responded to the area and made contact with two individuals arguing in the middle of the road on Coalton-Pumpkintown Road (Route 53).
The female and the male, identified as Johnathan Lee, were warned of disorderly contact before the scene was cleared.
Shortly after, at 7:30pm, 911 dispatched a domestic in progress on top of Coalton
Hill. The two individuals from the previous incident were discovered in the middle of the road on Coalton-Pumpkintown Road yelling obscene language and causing a scene when Deputy Pingley, responded to the area.
Upon arrival, the male, Johnathan Lee, could be seen in the middle of Coalton-Pumpkintown Road, while female was in the middle of Jimtown road.
The individuals were continuing to argue when Deputy Pingley separated the two.
Both stated that the argument had stemmed from a disagreement over child custody.
While attempting to speak with the female in private, Mr. Lee kept approaching Deputy Pingley and the female despite having been instructed to maintain his distance.
When Lee approached the deputy a second time, he was informed of his being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
When Deputy Pingley attempted to place handcuffs Lee, he was flailing his arms. He was eventually successfully cuffed, searched, and placed inside the police cruiser.
While Deputy Pingley attempted to continue conversing with the female, Lee continued his attempts at interrupting from inside the cruiser, repeatedly banging his shoulder against the door and yelling.
Lee was transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail shortly after for booking.
During the booking process, a search of Lee’s wallet revealed a folded dollar bill, inside which there was found to be a white crystal substance consistent with methamphetamine.
The dollar bill and the crystal substance were taken into evidence.
Johnathan Lee faces charges of disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance.
