PIPESTEM, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Logan County singer and America’s Got Talent Winner, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. is currently on the road for his “Home for the Holidays” tour which will be making its way to Pipestem Resort State Park this weekend.
Each year, Murphy’s “Home for the Holidays” sees the singer traversing the Mountain State and beyond to spread holiday cheer, shine a spotlight on some local talent, and give back to children across the state through the Landau’s Kids Joy Toy Drive.
“It’s just a fun time of year,” says Murphy of the holiday season. “It’s always a season of giving, caring, [and] loving.”
As with previous years, the 2024 “Home for the Holidays” tour has included some very talented special guests from throughout the Mountain State, including Mor Ilderton and Holly Forbes – both known for their time on The Voice, among other things – and singer-songwriter Corduroy Brown.
This year’s run of shows – which thus far have brought the singer everywhere from Tennessee to Clarksburg, and will see him perform with the Charleston, SC Symphony Orchestra next week – are part of an ongoing effort from Murphy and his Landau Little Big Band to convey the joy of the holiday season through performances.
“Fun, Christmas-fueled music, laughter, [and] a lot of joy,” the singer exclaims when asked what audiences should expect from this year’s shows throughout the “Home for the Holidays” tour. “I bring a lot of fun to the audience, and I try to make sure that they’re involved with the shows.”
One of the most important parts of the annual tour is Landau’s Kids Joy Toy Drive, which helps to secure gifts for children in need around the state up to the age of 18. The singer – who also serves as a board member for West Virginia non-profit organization, Children’s Home Society – then hand-delivers the gifts to the children just in time for Christmas.
Landau Eugene Murphy is scheduled to perform at Pipestem Resort State Park on Saturday, December 14, 2024, a day filled to the brim with exciting, holiday-themed activities and recreation opportunities.
“It’s a huge day here at Pipestem,” Pipestem Resort State Park Activities Coordinator, Scott Hill tells LOOTPRESS. “We’re starting off with breakfast with Santa Claus and friends. [We’ll have] the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company release party from 3:00pm to 5:00pm,and then we’re having the My Way Buffet featuring a menu of Frank [Sinatra] and Landau’s favorite foods at the at the Bluestone Diner. Then we’re having Landau perform his ‘Home for the Holidays’ concert at the McKeever Lodge Ballroom at 7:30pm. So, we’re packing the 14th with a lot of stuff!”
