CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that the federal government has approved his request for Individual Assistance in Logan and Wayne counties.
This designation allows residents experiencing significant damage to homes or property to apply for federal aid.
Logan and Wayne join McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, and Wyoming counties, which have already been approved for Individual Assistance.
Other counties included in Morrisey’s original request remain under review by FEMA.
“I’m grateful to the Trump administration for approving my request for recovery assistance in Logan and Wayne counties,” said Governor Morrisey.
“The Individual Assistance program will provide relief to those in need and aid our recovery efforts across southern West Virginia.”
FEMA will begin accepting applications for assistance in the newly approved counties and will assess potential sites for Disaster Recovery Centers.
Meanwhile, Governor Morrisey’s request for Public Assistance remains under FEMA’s review.
Residents seeking aid can find application details on FEMA’s website.
