HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man is facing charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a machete during a violent altercation at a makeshift campsite in Huntington early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at around 3:57 a.m. on April 19, 2025, at the intersection of West 13th Street and Virginia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a cut on her left hand, which she said she sustained while defending herself.
According to the victim, the suspect—identified as Calvin Robinson—became enraged and accused her of damaging their campsite, located over the flood wall near the river. During the argument, Robinson allegedly swung a machete at her, and she blocked the blow with her hand.
The victim was able to call 911 while the suspect was at another nearby campsite. Officers documented the injury with photographs, and an investigation is ongoing.
