GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following an investigation into allegations involving the online solicitation of a juvenile male through electronic communications and online gaming platforms.
According to the sheriff’s office, the juvenile reportedly met Adam S. Hamm of Summersville at the West Virginia State Fair in 2025. Investigators said contact between Hamm and the juvenile allegedly continued through text messages and online gaming communications following that encounter.
The investigation found alleged discussions involving requests for photographs and offers of gaming-related items associated with Fortnite, including V-Bucks and Battle Pass purchases.
Investigators further allege Hamm expressed interest in meeting the juvenile in person at the West Virginia State Fair this year.
He is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Sgt. D.L. Vaught conducted the investigation in coordination with the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and additional charges could be pursued following further review of the evidence and consultation with the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office also acknowledged assistance from the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, West Virginia State Police and other participating law enforcement agencies.
Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney Nicole Campbell and Sheriff Bart Baker urged parents to closely monitor who their children communicate with through social media, gaming platforms and messaging apps.
Officials warned that child predators can use those platforms to contact and groom children and encouraged anyone who believes their child is being targeted to immediately contact local law enforcement.
