CLARKSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Maryland man has pleaded guilty to his role in a drug trafficking operation that distributed large amounts of illegal drugs in Berkeley County.
Lester Luna, 30, of Hagerstown, Maryland, admitted to participating in a conspiracy that sold significant quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, according to court documents.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher.
The investigation was carried out by a coalition of agencies, including the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Local and regional law enforcement agencies from West Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania also assisted.
The investigation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which targets and dismantles major criminal organizations through coordinated efforts across multiple agencies.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the case.
