OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly making threats against employees of the Department of Human Services (DoHS) Oak Hill office.
According to the West Virginia State Police, the incident occurred on December 13, 2024, around 4:00 p.m., when Jason Rice contacted the DoHS office regarding the removal of his children.
During the call, Rice reportedly threatened to harm employees and damage the property, prompting the office to go into lockdown.
West Virginia State Police Trooper First Class (TFC) J.D. Morton responded to the scene and took the initial complaint from DoHS employees.
TFC Morton and TFC A.E. Roberts later located and arrested Rice without incident. He has been charged with making terroristic threats.
Rice is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
