BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is charged with malicious wounding after he stabbed a woman with a knife in Beckley.
On September 18, 2024, Beckley Police Officers responded to a disturbance on Patch Street where a female had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who had sustained a stab wound to her upper arm.
The victim informed officers that the altercation occurred while she was at her friend’s house. According to the victim, a man identified as Jeremy Henry was walking by when a scuffle broke out between them, during which Henry stabbed her before fleeing to his mother’s residence.
Officers located Henry at 217 Buckland Street and questioned him about the incident. Henry claimed that the victim had attacked him first and followed him down Patch Street. However, witnesses told Detective Deems that they had seen Henry with a knife in his hand during the altercation.
Henry was detained and transported for questioning. After waiving his right to a lawyer, Henry provided an inconsistent account of the incident, further implicating himself. He has been charged with malicious wounding.
