ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has lost all his possessions as a result of a Tuesday vehicle fire at Bear Haven Campground.
Deputy Elbon of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Tuesday, October 4th, authorities were dispatched to Bear Haven Campground to investigate reports of a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival on the scene, Deputy Elbon spoke with the owner of the vehicle, Samuel Joffe, who revealed that he had been staying in his truck, and that the secondary battery in the truck bed caught fire as a result of faulty wiring on a switch.
Joffe managed to escape the blaze uninjured, and was also able to save his cat from the blaze.
All of Joffe’s belongings are reported to have been lost in the fire.
Having no close friends or family with which to stay for the time being, Joffe was permitted to stay at the station of the Elkins Fire Department, who also responded to the scene.
