BOOMER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man faces charges following an incident earlier in the month during which he attacked a man holding a small child.
According to reports from Deputy Sheriff L.M. Roles of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, March 3, 2023, Deputy Sheriff Roles was dispatched to Boomer Hill Road with regard to a domestic situation at approximately 11:47am by Fayette County OES.
Arriving on the scene, Deputy Roles spoke with Buddy Lee Mullins, who advised that he had been holding a child when Isaac Napper had attacked him, punching him in the face several times. The report notes that Mullins did exhibit swelling and bruising on the left side of his face near his eye. Napper is said to have left the residence by this time.
Going into the home, Deputy Roles spoke with Makaylah Thompson, Napper’s girlfriend, who advised that Napper had gotten angry that she’d asked her son to come to her after he had told the child “no.”
Mullins is said to have picked the child up to take him to Ms. Thompson at this time, prompting Napper to become angry and attack Mullins while he was still holding the child. Ms. Thompson advised that she attempted to break up the fight and was struck in the face. The report indicates that Ms. Thompson did exhibit swelling and redness under her left eye during the investigation.
Two children were reportedly at the residence at the time of the incident. While both Mullins and Thompson denied EMS, both parties provided written statements and advised they wished to pursue criminal charges against Napper based on the incident.
Furthermore, Ms. Thompson stated that she would be seeking a DVP, and the Women’s Resource Center was notified.
