BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is in jail after throwing a glass of Pepsi at his girlfriend and one-year-old child after he drank two “40’s”.
On August 12, 2024, at 7:00 PM, Patrolman H. D. Browning responded to a domestic disturbance at 1907 Bluefield Ave.
Upon arrival, a white male exited the house and indicated that there had been an argument. He identified himself as Joseph Abrams. It was clear that Mr. Abrams had been drinking, as there was a strong smell of alcohol, and he spoke with slurred words. The officer asked him to stay outside while he talked to the other person involved.
When the officer entered the residence and talked to the first victim, she reported that during the argument, Mr. Abrams made several threats to kill her.
She also mentioned that he threw a glass of Pepsi at her and their one-year-old child.
The officer observed that both the victim and the child had been splashed with the drink.
After explaining the process and her available options, the victim was informed of the next steps.
Mr. Abrams was arrested and taken to the Bluefield Police Department.
While at the station, he admitted to making threats and acknowledged that he had consumed two large bottles of alcohol. He was booked, processed, and placed in a holding cell awaiting arraignment. Mr. Abrams faces one count of domestic assault for threatening the victim and two counts of domestic battery for throwing the drink at both her and their child.
