MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Martinsburg man has been sentenced to prison for attempted murder and has also been ordered to pay restitution to the victim.
According to Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Delligatti, on Tuesday, Levie Williams IV, 33, of Martinsburg, was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Laura V. Faircloth to the maximum 25-125 years in prison upon his conviction for one count of the felony offense of Attempted Murder and eleven counts of the felony offense of Malicious Wounding.
Williams was also ordered to pay nearly $20,000 in restitution to the victim and the West Virginia Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
This case arose from a domestic violence stabbing that occurred on August 24, 2022, at 120 Trooper Drive.
Delligatti says that the quick action of bystanders and lifesaving response from Corporals Shockey, McBee, and Merson of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department prevented this heinous attack from becoming a murder.
Williams was taken into custody by Deputy Price, and the case was investigated by Sgt. T. Funk with the Criminal Investigation Division.
The case was prosecuted by Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Delligatti and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Raymond E. Boyce, Jr., with support from Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Kinser.
