MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Mercer County will receive $425,000 in Transportation Alternatives and Recreational Trails Program funding for projects aimed at improving pedestrian safety, expanding recreational opportunities and enhancing community infrastructure, Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced.

According to the governor’s office, the funding will be used to rehabilitate and expand trails at Glenwood Park, provide maintenance for the Hatfield-McCoy Pocahontas Trail System, complete design work for new railings along West Concord Street in the Town of Athens and develop plans for new sidewalks along High Street in the City of Princeton.

- Hatfield-McCoy Pocahontas Trail System Maintenance — $125,000
- Town of Athens West Concord Street Railing Design — $100,000
