Middle School Roundup: Davidson’s game-winner lifts Greater Beckley over Indy; Park, Mercer Christian, Pineville, Mullens and Montcalm win

Greater Beckley 52, Independence Middle 50

Coal City – Keegan Davidson nailed a floater with under five seconds to go, helping the Crusaders notch a 52-50 win over Independence.

Davidson and Short led the Crusaders with 16 points each while Short hauled in 14 rebounds as well. Eli Sexton pitched in 12 points while Deegan Williams grabbed 10 boards.

Iziah Gordon led Indy with 21 points while Broc Johnson and Brock Green scored 13 and 10, respectively. Carter Hajash rounded out the scoring for Indy (6-1) with six points.

Park 42, Trap Hill 27

Jabari Spencer scored 14 points to lead Park to a 42-27 win over Trap Hill Tuesday night.

JW Wines added 15 in the win for the Roadrunners.

Mullens 50, Glen Fork 18

Glen Fork – Talan Muscai scored 14 points as Mullens picked up a 50-18 win over Glen Fork.

Owen Biggs pitched in nine points and Ryder Chapman added eight for the Rebels.

Mullens will play at Pineville on Jan. 4.

Montcalm 39, Green Bank 20

Donovan Reed scored 19 points as Montcalm defeated Green Bank 39-20 Tuesday night.

The Generals improve to 5-0 and will play Midland Trail for the Mountainview Christmas Tournament Championship on Thursday.

Pineville – Konnor Fox scored 23 points as Pineville pulled out a 44-39 win over Road Branch Tuesday in Pineville.

Ashton Blankenship added eight points for the Minutemen while Jasper Riffe led Road Branch with 14.

The Minutemen improve to 3-2 and host Mullens on Jan. 4

Princeton – Adam Jones scored 13 points to lead Mercer Christian to a 43-26 win over Shady Spring Tuesday in Princeton.

Eli Patton added nine points in the win as did Dylan Jones.

Seth Farmer and Reid Redford scored six points each for Shady.

Mercer Christian improves to 5-1 and will play Mountain View on Jan. 3

Princeton – Ella Botts led Mercer Christian with 13 points as the Cavaliers picked up a 29-15 win against Shady Spring.

Abigail Shrewsbury pitched in six points in the win.

Skylark Gibson led Shady with nine points.

Mercer Christian improves to 4-1 and will host Mountain View on Jan. 3.
