OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the Oceana Town Council are set to assemble on Thursday for their regular meeting session at which the date and time for 2023 Trick-or-Treat festivities will be announced.
Additional agenda items to see discussion will include a potential wastewater plant upgrade, a Supplemental Resolution related to the issuance of Waterworks System Design Revenue Bonds, and more.Â
The upcoming meeting is set to be held on Thursday, October 13, 2023, at Oceana City Hall at 1325 Cook Pkwy. The full session agenda for Thursday’s meeting as released by the Town of Oceana can be seen below.

- Opening comments and meeting called to order by Mayor Evans.
- Discussion and vote to approve minutes from September meetings.
- WVMLP: Adoption and Verification of discovery responses styled City/County Plaintiff’s Collective Answers to Distributor Defendant’s Reformulated Discovery Requests (67308157)
- Discussion and vote on waste water plant upgrade. (Dunn and Region 1)
- Discussion and vote on water project. (E. L. Robinson and Region 1)
- To consider and act upon the proposed Supplemental Resolution related to the issuance of the Waterworks System Design Revenue Bonds, Series 2023 A (West Virginia DWTRF Program). The proceeds of the Series 2023 A Bonds will be used to (i) to pay a portion of the costs of design and other pre-construction activities of certain additions, betterments and improvements to the existing public waterworks system of the issuer; and (ii) to pay costs of issuance and related costs. The Series 2023 A Bonds are payable solely from revenues to be derived from the ownership and operation of the system of the Town.Â
- To consider and act upon the proposed Sweep Resolution relating to the monthly debt service payments on the Series 2023 A Bonds to be made by electronic funds transfer with the State Treasurer sweeping the Town’s account.
- Discussion and vote to set Trick-or-Treating date and times.Â
- Discussion and vote on grants for Town of Oceana.
- Discussion and vote on tearing down Hatfield Store building.
- Discussion and vote on selecting a town representative to sit on the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
- Discussion and vote to appoint an Audit Committee to select an auditor.
- Discussion and vote on monthly financial and court report.
- Discussion and vote on monthly police report.
