MARION COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Motorists planning to travel along I-79 southbound in Marion County will be facing possible delays as one lane will be closed during a portion of next week due to road construction.
Officials say that there will be a lane closure on Interstate 79 southbound in Marion County, at mile marker 133 (Kingmont) to mile marker 132 (South Fairmont/Whitehall), from 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, through 6 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
The closure will allow for work crews to pave in preparation for phase 2 construction of the Tygart River Bridge. Operations will be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Motorists should expect major delays and are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
