CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Huntington man was arrested last Friday by a West Virginia State Fire Marshal investigator on an arson charge after allegedly setting fire to a portion of a residential house.
Thomas Dayton McGill is being charged in a fire that occurred on Friday, April 26th, around 12:30 PM in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue. As Cabell 911 was dispatching fire crews to the scene, WVSFMO Assistant State Fire Marshal T.S. Chastain was approximately two blocks away and heard the description of a man running away from the location of the fire. ASFM Chastain was able to locate and apprehend McGill in an alley approximately one block away from the fire.
McGill was arrested and charged with first-degree arson and is being held at the Western Regional Jail on a $10,000.00 bond.
