BUCKHANNON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested after a search warrant led to the discovery of multiple illegal substances at a Buckhannon residence, according to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 19, 2025, deputies executed a search warrant at 43 W. Lincoln Street in Buckhannon. Inside the residence, they located Jeffrey Clinton Rice Jr., along with various drugs and drug-related items.
Among the items seized were three bags containing a white crystal-like substance that Rice allegedly identified as methamphetamine. The combined weight of the suspected methamphetamine was approximately 2.7 ounces.
Deputies said the substance later field-tested positive for meth.
Also recovered at the scene were a pill bottle labeled Trazodone containing about 24 white pills, a green pill, half of an orange pill, a scale, U.S. currency, multiple used blue stamp bags, several bags with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a piece of paper consistent with LSD, and multiple smoking devices.
Rice was taken into custody and is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail. He is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and marijuana.
