MOUNT NEBO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Nicholas County, according to the Wilderness Fire Department.
The crash was reported at 1:26 p.m. in the 2000 block of Wilderness Highway (W.Va. 41) in Mount Nebo.
Wilderness Fire Department, Jan-Care Ambulance Service, and the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. Due to reports of entrapment, the Summersville and Keslers Cross Lanes fire departments were also dispatched to assist.
According to the Wilderness Fire Department, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
W.Va. 41 remained closed for more than two hours as emergency crews worked the scene and cleared the roadway.
The afternoon crash was one of two fatal accidents that occurred within approximately 13 hours in the Mount Nebo area.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and everyone affected by these tragic incidents. We also extend our appreciation to all responding agencies for their professionalism and teamwork during these difficult responses,” the Wilderness Fire Department said.
