CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia GOP Gubernatorial Candidate and Attorney General, Patrick Morrisey has announced $1.28 million in fundraising for Quarter 3 as the General Election approaches.
Since entering the race for West Virginia Governor in April 2023, Morrisey’s campaign indicates that it has raised over $6.6 million with $1,778,323 cash on hand. Additionally, the campaign states that 7,761 contributions in total have been received during Quarter 3, with many contributions noted to have been under $250.
“With less than one month to go until Election Day, it’s clear that West Virginians overwhelmingly support Patrick Morrisey to be their next Governor,” said Jonathan Ewing, Campaign Manager for the Morrisey Campaign.
As sitting Republican Governor Jim Justice prepares to depart from the role in pursuit of a seat in the United States Senate, the November General Election will see Attorney General Morrisey facing off against Huntington Mayor and Democratic candidate, Steve Williams, as well as Libertarian candidate, Erica Kolenich.
Morrisey was successful in a hotly contested Primary Election race where he secured the Republican Gubernatorial nomination over the likes of Chris Miller, Secretary of State Mac Warner, and former House of Delegates member Moore Capito, the latter of whom secured an endorsement from Governor Justice during the race.
Morrisey commented Wednesday on the support he has seen from West Virginia residents, declaring his intention to be a governor for all citizens.
“Since announcing my candidacy for Governor, we’ve seen tremendous support from people across West Virginia,” said Morrisey. “I will be a Governor for all 55 counties and every West Virginian as we become that shining state in the mountains where freedom reigns, the rule of law is upheld, our standard of living rises, and our kids receive a great education.”
