CEDAR GROVE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning in the Kanawha County area.
According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:57am, Deputies responded to the Britt Hollow Rd. and East Dupont Avenue areas to investigate an incident in which a pedestrian was reportedly struck by a moving vehicle.
Per law enforcement, a 39-year-old female was found to have sustained a leg injury after reportedly having been struck by a vehicle pulling a trailer.
The victim is said to have been walking west on East Dupont Avenue at the time she was struck by the vehicle, which was also traveling west. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
West Virginia State Police, with assistance from witnesses, were able locate the driver and involved vehicle on I-77 South.
Deputies obtained a statement from the driver, who indicated they had not been aware that a pedestrian had been struck by the vehicle.
Investigating deputies have not filed criminal charges against the driver at the time of writing.
