WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Some pepperoni rolls sold in West Virginia and Ohio have been recalled due to concerns about an undeclared allergen and improper storage conditions, according to a public service announcement confirmed Friday by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
The recall involves 5-ounce pepperoni rolls distributed by Fry Pie Factory, a Lancaster-based company. Officials said the products contain undeclared milk and were not stored or sold at the proper temperature, creating a potential risk of food-borne illness.
The recalled pepperoni rolls were sold at grocery stores, convenience stores and gas stations throughout Ohio and parts of West Virginia.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. However, consumers who experience symptoms of an allergic reaction or food-borne illness after eating the product are advised to contact a doctor immediately.
Officials are urging anyone who purchased the recalled pepperoni rolls to discard the product or contact Fry Pie Factory for a refund.
Customers with questions about the recall can contact Fry Pie Factory at 405-990-4657.
