PINEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is in jail after stabbing another man during an altercation.
According to Wyoming County Deputies, on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, deputies responded to Appalachian Hwy due to a stabbing. The investigation revealed that Joshua Andrew Cook stabbed his wife’s brother in the stomach. Cook’s wife says she went to get dinner, and when she returned, Cook accused her of being gone too long and lying. Cook spit in her face and started choking her with his hands. Cook’s wife then ran out the door to get her brother, who lives nearby.
When they returned, they told Cook to get his stuff and leave, but Cook refused. Cook and the victim got into an altercation, and Cook then stabbed him in the stomach.
Deputies found multiple unidentified pills and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
Cook faces charges of strangulation, domestic battery, and malicious wounding. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 dollar bond.
