MARLINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the Pocahontas County Commission recently convened for the Regular Session meeting of the County Commission.
The agenda for the session featured an array of topics slated for discussion, including approval for the hiring of county employee Nathan Tawney at $13.00 per hour, which saw passage.
Also discussed during the meeting was consideration for the purchase of a new or reliable used ambulance for use by the county.
The issue was discussed at length, with specifications regarding the potential purchase being proposed throughout the process. Commission members discussed seeking a vehicle under the price point of $15,000 which, although a new ambulance has not been ruled out, substantially increases the likelihood of the vehicle ultimately falling into the “reliable used” category.
The motion, which ultimately passed through the commission, is essentially approval to initiate a broader search for an ambulance including the implementation of advertisements and potential consideration of bids.
Tuesday’s meeting also entailed discussion of local television service throughout the Pocahontas County area, a proposed telephone system upgrade, and more.
