KANWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing juvenile who was last seen in the Cross Lanes area.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy C.R. Carter is seeking assistance in finding Charnayjia Peterkin, a 15-year-old juvenile female who is currently in the care and custody of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR).
Authorities said Peterkin was reported missing on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was last seen in the Cross Lanes area after leaving WVDHHR custody. At the time she went missing, she was reportedly wearing a creme-colored top and matching bottom sweats.
Investigators believe Peterkin may have left the area in a boxy, older-model blue sedan. Officials stated that she is not believed to be in danger at this time.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information that could help locate Peterkin to contact Deputy C.R. Carter or a detective with the sheriff’s office. Tips can be provided by calling 304-357-0169 or 304-357-0556.
