PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Princeton is proud to announce the purchase of its very first City Drone!
The new City Drone will be used in the Code Enforcement Department for the intentions of property maintenance, property viewing, and inspections. City staff within the Code Enforcement Department will pursue training in order to be properly certified for the safe use of the drone. The City will have the drone by the end of June with intentions of having it take flight immediately following all proper training.
“The addition of a drone for our Code Enforcement Department is highly valuable. It will increase the effectiveness and safety of our job by keeping my workers and myself off of
dangerous metal rooftops, but still allow us to receive a visual to ensure that city code is being followed. There are also many future uses that have great potential. For example, the drone could help our city Animal Control Department in situations where they may need to locate a dog that is running through the city.
They will be able to fly the drone above the city and pan it around until the dog is located.
This drone will have some really valuable uses and we will discover many more once it arrives and we can get our hands on it.”- Ty Smith, Code Enforcement Director
