PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department responded to a standoff at Fox Ridge Apartments in Princeton.
Corporal E.P. Parks assisted management in evicting a resident after a lawful court order was obtained.

The female occupant, identified as Jessica Nelson, was reportedly uncooperative and allegedly in possession of firearms.
Deputies, including members of the SWAT team, were called to assist. With help from Fox Ridge management, other residents of Building A were safely evacuated.
After approximately 30 minutes of unsuccessful negotiations, deputies entered the apartment and took Nelson into custody without injury.
The sheriff’s office thanked residents for cooperating during the evacuation and confirmed the situation is now resolved, allowing evacuated tenants to return safely.
