FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power Company have filed a proposal with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia to increase rates for electric service across their service territories. The proposed rate changes, which are part of a Rule 42T tariff filing, are set to take effect on December 1, 2025, unless modified by the Commission. If approved, the companies anticipate an annual revenue increase of approximately $250,493,835, representing a 14.12% increase in rates.

Resale customers, such as Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and Virginia Tech Electric, are excluded from this filing and will not see rate changes, as they fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
