BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Attorney Daniel J. Burns has officially filed to run for a seat on the Raleigh County Circuit Court.
Daniel Burns filed today at the Secretary of State’s Office in Charleston.
He will be on the ballot running for the seat on the 14th Judicial Circuit, in Division 2.
Daniel Burns attended West Virginia University and completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude.
Following graduation, Daniel attended the West Virginia University College of Law, graduating in 2011.
Daniel is currently a Member with the law firm of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC in Beckley, West Virginia, where he has worked since 2012.
Over the past eleven years, Daniel has represented state and local government entities, law enforcement, businesses and individuals in all manners of civil litigation across the state, in both federal districts of West Virginia, and in various appellate arenas.
In addition to his civil practice, Daniel has litigated criminal matters and matters pertaining to child abuse and neglect in Raleigh County.
Outside of the courtroom, Daniel has devoted his time to the improvement of his community and his state.
Daniel currently serves on the West Virginia State Bar Unlawful Practice of Law Committee, the West Virginia Real Estate Appraisal Licensing and Certification Board, the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, and he was a past member of the Board of Directors for Just for Kids, Inc.
Daniel can also be found coaching volleyball through the YMCA each spring.
Daniel says he will be the type of judge that the law requires, one who is fair and impartial to all who appear before the Court.
Daniel says he is known to be hard-working, fair, and experienced, and he maintains a calm temperament that will serve him well as a judge.
If elected as the next Raleigh County Circuit Court Judge, Daniel says he is committed to ensuring that each individual appearing before him will be treated with fairness, respect, and each case will be decided impartially based on the law of our great state.
Circuit Judge elections are non-partisan and they serve eight-year terms.
West Virginia’s 2024 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
