OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – “The Raleigh and Fayette County Partners in Prevention teams will be hosting the very first Family Day on Main Street in Oak Hill, Saturday, August 26th, 2023 from 12PM-6PM. The event is free and open to all families in the area.
Family Day will have over 20 organizations participating and providing free activities. The Lively Amphitheater will be hosting a performance by American Idol participant Kamron Lawson, Sam’s Singing Telegrams, and a karaoke/lip sync battle.
Sayre Photography will be taking free friendship photos and there will be an opportunity to win awards and giveaways throughout the day.
Family Day has been planned as a fun day with lots of engaging activities for children and families. Free snacks, games, and booths along the closed off Main Street will provide hours of fun in a family friendly, safe environment.
Partners in Prevention is made up of community organizations that work together to strengthen families and decrease the prevalence of child abuse and neglect in West Virginia. These organizations promote five protective factors that are known to build strong families.
Participants include: Activities and prizes provided by Just For Kids Child Advocacy Center, Fayette County Starting Points, Raleigh County Family Support Center, Warm Hands from Warm Hearts, WIN WV, NECCO, Raleigh County Family Support Center, Oak Hill Library, Huggaroo, Fayette CountyFamily Resource Network, DHHR, Necco, Café One Ten, Dragon’s Den, Aetna, Happy Faces, Christian Evangelical Fellowship, Appalachian Regional Hospital, Oak Hill McDonald’s, Department of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Health and Human Resources, Qdoba, Save the Children, WVU Extension/4-H, The Health Plan, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Generations Health and Wellness, Magnolia Ladies Boutique, Kay Jewelers, Skyzone, Escape-A-Torium, Kendra Scott, Olive Garden, and Carly Treadway.”
