Ray Loyrah Willis was carried away unto the arms of Jesus on Wednesday September 20th 2023. He was born in February 28th 1950. He was the son of the late Bert Willis and Mary Workman Willis.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Bernard Neff, David Willis, Elizabeth Willis and Bert Willis J.R. and both parents.
Ray loved the Lord and his family. He was an avid hunter and was fondly known as the rabbit stalker. He was his grand children’s biggest sports fan! He was proudly walked off many ball field for citing the opposing team’s failures. Anyone that knew him has seen every photo of not only his children but also his grandchildren and great grandchildren!
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Loray Carver Willis of Beauty Mountain WV; five daughters, Marie(Mike) White of Beckley, Sherry(Dave) Cummins of Fayetteville, Angie(Tony) Hawkins of Ansted, Tiffany(Jason) Wilson of Ansted, Regina(the late J.D.) Pack of Oak Hill. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, Timothy(Brittany) Moore, Carissa(Dezmon) Pierson, Matthew, Christian, Jacob, Noah Cummins, Lindsay, Spencer(Austin) Hawkins, Trevor(Mallory) Hawkins, Gabe and Elijah Hawkins, Ray(Angelique)Pawlus, Cheyanne Pawlus and Raven Harmon; 11 great grandchildren, Braylee and Brady Moore, Zaidyn and Addy Pierson, Athena Hawkins, Hailey, Heidi, Harrison and coming November 2023 Haisley Pawlus, Selah Ritter and coming March 2024 baby of Raven Harmon; his brothers Walter, Greg, Randy, Jeff, Carl, Larry, and Jason Willis, and his sisters Shirley Dorsey, Glenna Hayes and Kathy Willis.
Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Virginia Street Baptist Church, Oak Hill with Pastor Doug Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Graydon. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 at the church.
